Gottman Method Relationship Intensives
Gottman Method Relationship Intensives offer a focused, structured, and accelerated way to strengthen your relationship skills—whether you are attending as an individual or as a couple.
These intensives are designed for those ready to move beyond waitlists and engage in deeper therapeutic work now, rather than spreading it across months of weekly sessions.
At True North Therapy, intensives integrate the Gottman Method framework to help individuals and couples identify and shift unhelpful relational patterns, improve communication, rebuild connection, and strengthen emotional responsiveness in a concentrated format.
Why Choose an Intensive Format?
Traditional weekly therapy can be helpful, but it often involves repeated pauses, weekly re-orientation, and time spent revisiting previous material before moving forward. In contrast, an intensive format allows for sustained therapeutic focus, where we can stay with core relational dynamics long enough to work through them more fully and effectively.
Instead of pausing after 50–60 minutes and waiting a week to continue, you engage in extended sessions over 1–2 consecutive days, allowing for deeper processing, repair, and integration of key patterns in real time.
tools help identify strengths, recurring patterns, and key areas for growth, ensuring our time together is focused and intentional.
time is used to explore your personal history, attachment patterns, emotional regulation strategies, and relational experiences. This work helps deepen self-awareness and clarifies how your inner world shapes your relationships.
Extended Gottman Method Sessions
The core of the intensive consists of extended sessions (typically 2-hour blocks), tailored to your goals—whether working individually or together as a couple. Using Gottman Method interventions, we focus on:
The goal is not only to reduce distress, but to actively build a more secure and resilient relational foundation—within yourself and/or your relationship.
INTERGRATION & BREAKS
Because this is deep emotional work, intentional breaks are included throughout the process. These pauses support regulation, reflection, and integration so that insights can be meaningfully absorbed rather than rushed.
